What is a wet well?
Sewage pumping stations (also called lift stations) are used to move waste water to higher elevations in order to allow transport by gravity flow. Sewage is fed into and stored in a sealed underground pit, commonly known as a wet well.
When the level rises to a predetermined point, a pump will be started to lift the sewage upwards through a pressurised pipe system, from where it is discharged into a gravity manhole again. From here, the cycle starts over again until the sewage reaches its point of destination, usually a treatment plant or main gravity sewer.

Man entry into your pumpstation
Sometimes there are rare occasions when we simply cannot fully complete a clean from cover level, or maybe there is a requirement for some work to be carried out inside of the chamber. On these occasions, we can deploy our confined space entry team to your site. These operators have a wealth of experience in entry procedures and are fully trained to a City and Guilds standard.
